All owners and occupants of homes or businesses within the Town of Livonia are required to install their physical address numbers on their property for identification by emergency 911 departments.

The numbers must be made of high reflective material and at least 4" per number.

This small requirement is very crucial to be identified in the event of an emergency.  It could mean life or death!


The P.C. Parish Police Government provides collection of white goods and bulky waste at roadside for residents.

White Goods: washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, A/C, hot water heaters, and other small appliances.

Bulky Waste: tree limbs and branches no longer than 8 feet in length and 24 inches in diameter, furniture, mattresses.  No wire or metal, or construction debris.

Collection dates:    1st full week and 3rd  week of each month.

The Town of Livonia ask that you refrain from putting this roadside until the weekend prior to pickup to avoid flying debris and drainage restrictions.

WHEREAS, on March 13, 2020, the President of the United States, pursuant to the National 
Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C 1601, et seq., has declared that the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) constitutes a national emergency; and

WHEREAS, on March 11, 2020, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued Proclamation Number 25 JBE 2020 regarding the Public Health Emergency – COVID-19, declaring an imminent threat posed to Louisiana citizens by the virus, creating emergency conditions that threaten the lives and health of the citizens of the State of Louisiana, pursuant to La. R.S. 29:766; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Livonia in Pointe Coupee Parish may be greatly affected or has been greatly affected by the virus “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes, Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19), and the disease may pose an imminent threat to the Town of Livonia and threaten the safety and security of the citizens of the Town of Livonia: and

WHEREAS, the Town of Livonia may activate any necessary emergency plans and activities in response to this event and that this may exceed the Parish’s capability to respond to this possibly life-threatening crisis, and as such the Town of Livonia takes this measure in order to participate in any response and recovery plan administered by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and their power to act as administrator, as per La. R.S. 29:767, and pursuant to the Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Assistance Act as amended, La R. S. 29:721, et seq.; 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that beginning on March 13, 2020, and continuing until April 13, 2020, unless terminated sooner, pursuant to the authority granted in La. R.S. 29:737, at State of Public Health Emergency is hereby declared for the Town of Livonia.

Bids will be received by the Town of Livonia at 3111 LA HWY 78, Livonia, LA, for the sale of the following used equipment in “as is” condition with no warranty:

One used 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe K9 Police Unit – Minimum Bid $13,000

Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. on July 10, 2020, at Livonia Town Hall, 3111 LA HWY 78, Livonia, LA and must be in a sealed envelope with “BID-USED 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe K9 Police Unit” written on the front of the envelope. Bid form can be picked up at Livonia Town Hall or at Sealed bids will be opened at 3:00 p.m. on July 10, 2020, and awarded at the council meeting on July 13, 2020, at 6:30 p.m.

The equipment can be seen at the Livonia Town Hall, 3111 LA HWY 78, Livonia, LA during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.).  

All sales are final. Successful bidders must pay for equipment with a cashier’s check or money order and remove the equipment within 5 business days after the bid has been awarded.

The Town of Livonia reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
